Learn how to cook the French way at Cook Au Vin! We offer cooking classes Monday to Sunday. The more the merrier!!
Group Classes
Chef Vincent's approach to learning to cook is all about being relaxed and having fun together: a little bit of wine, some conversation, some laughs, some bread and cheese, some more wine, and a lot of cooking inbetween !
Whether you consider yourself a novice or advanced in the kitchen, you're sure to be challenged and entertained.
How the class works:
On the day of your class, the kitchen has been completely reserved. Everyone is encouraged to bring 1-2 bottles of wine (we are BYOB), but freshly-baked baguettes, French butter, and imported cheese and charcuterie tray will be provided as a little snack before cooking.
Our cooking classes last usually four hours. The class begins with an apéritif (pre-dinner drink), after which you will don your provided caps and aprons to begin cooking. For the next several hours, you can expect to cook the entire meal yourselves, under the guidance of the chef. It is very hands-on, with him actually touching the food as little as possible.
Then, dinner is plated and served for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor together in our cozy dining area.
Registering for classes:
Pick a menu! We have eight menus available, with Cordon Bleu, Bordeaux and Vegetarian ("One Star Menu") being the least technical and inexpensive option, the Vuitton, Dior, Chanel and Gaultier-Vegetarian ("Two Star Menu") being a little bit more technical and upscale, and the third which is Prestige Menu ("Three Star Menu") consisting of the most difficult dishes and/or those with the finest ingredients. (See pricing below...)
Check calendar below and Pick a date! Email us at cookauvin@gmail.com with your name, coupon voucher number (if you have one), several dates you'd be interested in, the time slot that best works for you, and menu you'd prefer. If you will be bringing friends who also benefits promotional discount we will need their voucher numbers as well. We will do our best to get back to you within 24 hours to confirm your reservation.
Cancellation and rescheduling:
Rescheduling and Cancellations (at least 24h before)- Not possible the day of the cooking class. Due to the large number of schedule requests we receive every day, you MUST be sure of your dates and availability before you book your class. Rescheduling is possible only for emergency situations, and will be accompanied by a $55 rescheduling fee per couple.
Why do you charge a fee to reschedule? Does it still apply to family emergencies/missed flights/etc?
We apologize for the inconvenience, and we do understand that these things happen. However, we have had so many requests of this nature that we must enforce a fee for all reschedule requests. The fee should ensure that everyone who books a class knows for certain that they can come, and this in turn will greatly increase probability that all Coupon users will be able to reserve on the exact date they would like.
There are no exceptions to the $55 rescheduling fee. Everyone has the best reason for being rescheduled... Thank you for your understanding.
Calendar:
Please note that we are keeping the schedule as up to date as we can, but that it may be possible for you to see a date open that has just been filled.

Misc Info
- Classes will be made up of 8-10 people. Those who have a group of 10 friends already planning to attend together will be allowed to do so, however groups of 8 friends should be prepared for the possibility that another twosome will be joining the class if needed.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any class without at least 6 people registered within one week of scheduled class.
- Classes will be made up of romantic couples, parent/child teams, friends, roommates, cousins, and siblings. Please come prepared to have a good time and mingle a little bit with the others in your group :)
- Do your best to avoid heavy eating before you come to class -- your taste buds will thank you later! We will provide you with a small French appetizer platter upon your arrival to help stave off hunger while you cook in the kitchen.
- Please remember that we are BYOB. Wine, beer, liquor, and non-alcoholic beverages are all fine. All that we have in house is tap water, and we are willing to share!
- You should plan to wear comfortable, casual clothes when you come - especially your shoes since you will be standing most of the time cooking! Try to avoid excessively long or puffy sleeves.
- You will find ample parking around our shop during the evening classes. On the other hand, if you prefer to take a cab to and from your class, we use Flash Cab as our favorite service, and they are very good at coming with 5-10 minutes of being called.
- Dinner will be served family style.
- Because we will often have classes following the class you are in, our team will do our best to keep your class on track to finish at the pre-determined time. Keep in mind we're not trying to rush you, just stay on time for our later seatings as a courtesy to all.
